The numbers: 20% of Americans regularly use the phrase “safe space,” the most popular term among 30 tested.

  • Only 5% of Americans use the term “Latinx,” while less than 10% of Democrats use “BIPOC,” an acronym for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.

Context: Progressivism was dealt a heavy blow in the 2024 election, with many Democrats expressing concern that fringe beliefs and the alienation of working class voters played a role in Kamala Harris’ defeat.
